Leslie Abramson is a defense attorney who represented Lyle and Erik Menendez in court after they were accused of murdering their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. Her character is based off the real lawyer who represented the real Menendez brothers between 1989 and 1996.

History[]

In 1989, the Menendez brothers are accused of murdering their parents. Abramson, a determined lawyer, represents them in court and provides evidence that the brothers are victims of abuse at the hands of their parents, which drove them to snapping and murdering them. Whilst she is representing the brothers, Leslie suffers personal demons of her own from her own past and even sees a psychologist to help her.

During the case, she becomes a well-known figure to the media as the case receives more and more media attention. She becomes close to the Menendez brothers and even comforts them at several occasions. Finally, after seven years of jury deadlocks and suspicion of corruption from court officials, the Menendez brothers are found guilty of murder, shocking Leslie and the nation and the brothers are locked up.
