Linda Coffey is the mother of Charles Coffey, who was sent to Rikers Island on drug charges his lawyer never appealed. His red Pontiac Firebird was taken to the impound, then commandeered by the Neighborhood Stabilization Unit for patrol work.
The car was later used for the kidnapping and torture-murder of black auxiliary officer Floyd Michaels, and the car was later destroyed to get rid of evidence, which was unsuccessful ultimately. (L&O: “DWB”)
