Lisa Munson is the wife of prison guard and serial rapist Gary Munson.

Background[]

She married Gary and had two kids with him, being a seemingly happy family. Her father, a well respected cop, was able to get Gary a job as a Corrections Guard at Rikers.

History[]

When Gary was accused of sexual assault by several women, Lisa stood by Gary and was furious with the Special Victims Unit for charging her husband, even yelling at Benson and blaming her for charging him. Benson apologized but tells her if she really believed in her husband, she should get herself checked herself for an STD. (SVU: "Intersecting Lives")

Lisa confronted Benson in the women's bathroom in the courthouse, stating that she has an STD and that she believes she got it from Gary. Realizing that Gary was a rapist and a dangerous man, she asks Benson for help escorting herself and her children away from Gary. She eventually calls her for help when Gary turns up at their house. Benson and Mike Dodds turn up to help take Lisa and her children away safely but as Lisa is coming downstairs, Gary notices he is wearing a jacket he gave her. Benson escorts the children out of the house before Lisa angrily gives Gary the jacket. Just as she hands it to him, Gary pulls out a gun and holds Lisa and Mike at gunpoint. Benson soon finds out and calls for help, ultimately resulting in the evacuation of all the houses in the street and a huge police presence in the area. A frightened Lisa tells Gary she has changed her mind and that she'll stay with him but Gary is unconvinced. Mike tries to wrestle the gun from Gary only to be shot in the chest, which Lisa witnesses. Benson and the police enter Lisa's home to find Mike on the floor bleeding badly while Lisa stands in a corner horrified and Gary is arrested. She is last seen crying in her father's arms out of the house. (SVU: "Heartfelt Passages")
