When Logan's identical twin brother Lucas was born, there was a malfunction with the machine that does circumcisions. Unbeknownst to Lindsay or Logan, Lindsay underwent sexual reassignment surgery. A sex therapist named Dr. Preston Blair experimented on the twins to try and make them take on the gender identities assigned to them in a dichotomy they never consented to. Even the parents were so on board to the point of regularly feeding estrogen to Logan's twin sister Lindsay. The parents lost it when Lindsay was caught kissing another girl. The twins still kept a close bond, even to developing their own twin language, which is common in identical and fraternal twins.
When the truth of the murder came out with Lindsay's real gender and her birth name, Lindsay was devastated when her parents and Dr. Blair finally admitted to Lindsay directly. Logan then came forward and reported the doctor's experiments on the twins were sexual abuse, forcing them to act out sexual activity with each other and showing them nude photos and videos to reinforce the abuse. The twins later conspired so that one murdered Dr. Blair at the office while the other was at the movies for an alibi. Even with the saliva found on Blair's face, without pinpointing which brother was responsible. Regardless of whether the killer was Logan or Luke, the legal system had no laws to charge them based on the available evidence, leading to their release. (SVU: "Identity")
