The Louisiana Purchase

The State of Louisiana is a southern state of the United States of America, achieving statehood in 1812. Louisiana was a founding state of the Confederate States of America. It is one of the few states to have French spoken more than Spanish after American.

In 1803, the United States bought the Louisiana territory from France for $15,000,000 ($230,000,000 in 2013 dollars). The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of America.

Louisiana is known for being the victim of Hurricane Katrina. Michael Delpit kidnapped three girls from Louisiana after the hurricane.
