Dr. Margaret Slavin is an expert in crib death detectives hired for expert consultation and testimony in the murders Eileen Willick's children by abuse out of Munchausen by proxy. When the defense argued a "death gene", Dr. Slavin personally testified as she saw in her personal opinion it wold be near impossible for every single child in the Willicks' homes to be crib deaths.

However defense goaded her to admit she couldn't conclusively prove murder versus crib death in the murders of the Willick infants, and when McCoy tried to bring up more children than Emily Eileen had murdered, the case was transferred to another A.D.A.. But when Eileen was revealed to be pregnant again, Martin conceded and sold out Eileen by agreeing to testify and take a plea on both of their behalves so Eileen would receive treatment for her problems.
