Margery Evans is a promising newscaster who spoke up in support of Harold Coyle, a news anchor and serial rapist of the women in the studio Coyle worked in. Evans replaced Heidi Sorenson when she made allegations and an investigation ensued.

When more women came forward and Coyle was taken to trial, with other colleagues in the studio knowing Coyle's rapes, Margery still testified on the stand that Coyle was innocent. Heidi tried to warn her, but Margery just said she's loyal.

Margery then visits Coyle at his home and demands her tape back, revealing that she has also been a victim of Coyle's this entire time. Coyle refuses and instead tries to rape her. Margery fights and gets away, having recorded the whole confrontation up to the sexual assault. Margery confessed to her perjury and agreed to testify to the truth with the new evidence at hand.

Coyle was sentenced to a year in prison, and the studio paid settlements. It's unknown if Margery was imprisoned or even convicted for perjury. (SVU: "The Newsroom")
