Margo Nelson is a defense attorney and the primary pro bono representation of serial harasser and assailant, rapist, and murderer Darrell Guan. Guan was born Afro-Asian-American, getting him ostracized from Chinatown especially since he was born from the rape of his mother Susan Guan by Harold Starnes. From this and using background in biology, Nelson tried to argue Guan's predisposition was an inheritance of violence by genetic relation and reduce or prevent his sentence, which is implied to be partly politically motivated.
Psych evals of Guan and testimony of his history of abuse by kids in his neighborhood and rejection by adults in his community proved otherwise. As a result of proving he wanted revenge, Guan was convicted and sentenced to death. (SVU: "Inheritance")
