IMDb profile

Mariel Hemingway is an American actress who guest-starred on Law & Order in the episode "Remains of the Day" as Ashley Jones.

She is a granddaughter of writer and poet Ernest Hemingway, known for her credits including the films Lipstick, Manhattan (with Michael Murphy, Wallace Shawn, Karen Allen, Mark Linn-Baker, and Frances Conroy), Star 80 (with Eric Roberts), Personal Best (with Jim Moody), and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (with Margot Kidder) and leading roles in the TV shows Central Park West (with David Marciano) and Civil Wars (with Mädchen Amick, Michael Michele, and Noelle Beck).

Mariel's sister, Margeaux Hemingway, and Mariel's children Dree Hemingway and Langley Fox, are all actresses and models. Mariel has been highly candid about her family's history of mental illness, suicide, alcoholism, and domestic abuse, which she covered in the documentary Running From Crazy. She has also been notable for recounting how she’s been pursued by older actors and directors, including ones she worked with, like Woody Allen, the director of Manhattan. One of her most celebrated presences is as a queer community ally, as she has become involved as an ally from her history of roles as gay and bi women.
