Maruga Gasana was an Army Captain in his native Sierra Leone.
In 2001, Gasana and two other members of his unit were dispatched to the United States to recover a cache of blood diamonds held by a rogue trader. Gasana's men killed the trader and recovered the diamonds, which they sent back to their native country. However, Gasana was located and arrested before he could join his men. He cut a deal for 12 and a half to 25 years in prison.
