Law and Order

Mary Calvin is the nanny of Sofia Archer's children and an accessory in the death of Sofia's adopted son Christopher.

History[]

Mary watched over Jackson Littlefield, a boy with severe autism, before she presided over Sofia's children. Mary couldn't stop Jackson from hurting himself and being aggressive with others, so he went to the hospital three times. She was understandably fired to prevent further injury to Jackson by hiring a specialized caregiver. Mary watched over Sofia's daughter Agatha and baby son Christopher, the latter of who was adopted controversially by his father Ephraim Mogae in Mamuno. Sofia typically would neglect Mary, leaving Christopher in the care of Mary most of the time. When Sofia wanted to watch Christopher while Mary briefly went out, Mary came home to see Sofia standing over Christopher's crib, Christopher lying there dead. Mary failed to resuscitate him with CPR and an in-home defibrillator. Sofia threatened to frame Mary for Christopher's death if she didn't bury Christopher in the woods, then have Sofia's former assistant Lashonda Harris be tricked into offering her son to be cared for by them so he'd be a poser for Christopher. Mary was bribed under the ruse it was for her mother's medical expenses.

Mary witnessed Sofia's husband Sean get shot through an ice cream parlor window while holding Lashonda's son. Ephraim accidentally killed him because he wanted Christopher back, only using the malfunctioning gun to scare Sean. Mary was most cooperative, offering Ephraim's contacts to track him. When Ephraim only agreed to a confession for the piece of seeing his son, Mary offered to supervise the visit when Sofia was provoked by the demand. Ephraim knew instantly Lashonda's son wasn't Christopher's. Sofia tried to blame Mary, but Mary defended herself by revealing where Christopher was buried, where he was reduced to bones. Mary and Sofia were charged with murder, and Mary took a plea as an accessory to testify against Sofia. Her defense again painted her as the real killer, but Mary defended herself by stating her true guilt in the conspiracy and how she never abused children in the past. Sofia took a plea to manslaughter in the end.

Mary was found guilty as an accessory and was imprisoned. (L&O: "Charity Case")
