Maryland

The State of Maryland is a state of the United States of America, one of the original 13 colonies. Washington, D.C., the capital of the USA, is located on the southern border of Maryland. The bloodiest single-day battle of the American Civil War, called the Battle of Antietam, occurred in 1862 at Sharpsburg. It was the first of two Confederate invasions of the North.

Baltimore, the largest city in the state, serves as the environment for Homicide: Life on the Street.

Brian Egan was from Baltimore, Maryland, where he killed 6 people in a black church with a gas bomb in 1991 before attacking a train in New York City, killing 20 more black people. John Munch was also from Maryland, who swore never to return. (L&O: "Charm City")
