Mr. Mason (first name unknown) is the father of college student and murderer Danielle Mason. Mr. Mason is a violent racist, once protesting so horribly against his daughter dating a black boy in high school, he broke her arm. She dated another black student in college, Charley Mason, but because she was afraid her father and his social circles would target Charley, she insisted they keep their relationship secret.
When Charley said he wanted to meet Danielle’s family or else he was breaking up with her, Danielle was both enraged and terrified of word getting out that she stabbed Charley to death. She was arrested and said Charley was a stranger she was drugged and raped by, killing him when he tried to rape her again. Mr. Mason professed a tirade against the black community when thought he saw a campaign for payback against his daughter, while the black community in turn hated his racism. When his battery of Danielle came to light, she wasn’t called to the stand to testify, and the jury wasn’t convinced of her lie.
Danielle finally confessed to why she killed Charley and agreed to a plea deal. (L&O: “Good Girl”)
