Megan Ramsey is a woman who was inadvertently manipulated by her psychiatrist, Dr. Wharton, into believing her father Evan had molested her.

Megan had a complicated relationship with her family, particularly her father Evan, and saw Dr. Wharton, much to her mother Rebecca's disapproval. During a recovered-memory therapy session, Wharton brainwashed Megan into thinking that Evan molested her, which made Megan visit the Special Victims Unit to report the rape. At first, Rebecca refused to believe her husband was a rapist until her daughters Jodie and Lily were questioned by the detectives, and the interrogations strongly indicated possible sexual abuse.
In an effort to get her father imprisoned, Megan planted pictures of child pornography in Evan's possession. When she was caught, she admitted to this and dropped the charges against her father. She later became a suspect in Evan's murder and was investigated until Jodie admitted to committing the murder. It was soon discovered that Megan was never raped to begin with and she was inadvertently brainwashed by Dr. Wharton as part of the recovered-memory therapy.
