Mehcad Brooks (born Mehcad Jason McKinley Brooks on October 25, 1980 in Austin, Texas) is an actor who is known for his roles on television shows such as Desperate Housewives, True Blood, The Game, and Necessary Roughness (with Callie Thorne, Hannah Marks, Scott Cohen, Craig Bierko, and John Stamos).
In 2011, he guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode "Personal Fouls" as basketball star Prince Miller.
He later starred on the 2015 TV series Supergirl (with Melissa Benoist and Jeremy Jordan) as Jimmy Olsen (a character played by Jack Larson in the Adventures of Superman TV show) and the 2021 film Mortal Kombat.
He joined the main cast of Law & Order in the twenty-second season as Detective Jalen Shaw.
