Melissa Leo is an actress who played four different characters in Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Leo is known for playing Detective Kay Howard in Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993–1997. She has also been a regular on All My Children and The Young Riders. In 2008, she played the lead in the film Frozen River (with Michael O'Keefe and Mark Boone Junior), for which she garnered an Oscar nomination. She has also appeared in the film Olympus Has Fallen and its sequel London Has Fallen (with Radha Mitchell). Leo appeared in supporting roles in the thriller films Prisoners (with Viola Davis and Maria Bello), The Equalizer (with Bill Pullman and David Harbour), and The Equalizer 2 (with Pullman and Pedro Pascal), having previously appeared in a 1985 episode of the original series. Leo appeared on the Fox series Wayward Pines as Nurse Pam (with Shannyn Sossamon and Reed Diamond).
Leo has a son with former boyfriend John Heard, named John Matthew Heard (born 1987). Heard can be seen in several episodes from the Law & Order franchise.
