Detective Michelle Pierce is an Internal Affairs detective subpoenaed bu the defense of Kendra Daniels, who was on trial for shooting dead Detective Jimmy Doyle. Pierce was called to the stand in regards to evaluate Doyle's racial disparity, despite Price trying to get the motion thrown out and failing.

Pierce recounted Doyle's investigations 10 years ago of using the N-word and other racial slurs in regards to two suspects. Price tried to discredit the investigation, pointing out Doyle was cleared of suspicion without penalty and the suspects were charged with, separately, aggravated rape and the murder of a seven-year-old girl.

The conviction at the end was not of the harshest charges, but Daniels was imprisoned on manslaughter two. (SVU: "Black and Blue")
