Detective Mike Foster is an investigator on the case of the murders of Shane Mallory and Patty Voytek, two rock musicians affiliated with the defunct band Crisis. Foster found the gun used by the killer, former drummer Travis Jones, but Foster had a history of wiretapping and other illegal breaches of law and protocol to get evidence.
After new evidence secured the case for the prosecution again, Jones was found guilty and imprisoned. Foster's legal fate is left unknown. (L&O: "True Crime")
