Law and Order

Mitch Hampton is the company lawyer for music mogul Vincent Love's label and the representative of rapper Hype.

History[]

Hype and Hampton were questioned when transgender college student Eva Carson was beaten and raped with a pipe in a public bathroom until she died, as Hype was seen slurring at her in a modeling event and she hit him. Hype revealed it was staged and they were dating, but because she was writing his music, they had to keep the brand from being ousted from having employed her.

Hampton again represented Hype when he shot Cash Lewis, Love's producer and the killer of Eva, dead. Hampton made Hype argue self-defense and contracting disagreements just to protect the company. When detectives tried to encourage Hype to plea down in exchange or selling out Love for his motive of ordering Eva's murder, which was on record, Hampton pressured Hype to be "no snitch" and take it to court. Hype was found guilty and imprisoned, with Love getting rich on Hype's single rising the charts.

It's unknown if Hampton and Love were even charged for their roles. (SVU: "Broken Rhymes")
