The NYPD Traffic Control Division is responsible for the traffic flow throughout New York City.
The NYPD traffic officers prevent accidents by controlling busy intersections, clearing hazardous conditions from roadways, and providing for the free and orderly flow of traffic. Specialty units in TCD provide truck enforcement, inspection of construction sites and mobile response units.
Traffic Enforcement Agents are members of the Department. They must pass 12 weeks of academy training in parking and traffic rules and regulations, intersection control and summons issuance before being assigned to posts throughout New York City.

- Two officers, named Cheryl and Andre, from the Traffic Control Division, wanted to use a tow truck (number 114) to remove a wrongly parked car. They stopped working, when they discovered blood coming out of the trunk.
