Nat Phelps is a man who was sexually abused by his teacher Donald Bazinski when he was a teenager.
History[]
When he was a teenager, Phelps was acquainted with Zach Foster who was often babysat by his sister Sarah. At some point, he was molested by his former wrestling coach Donald Bazinski. Afterwards, he kept quiet about it for several years. However, after Bazinski kidnapped and molested Foster, Nat helped SVU by revealing where the cabin was. When SVU needed some of the victims to come forward and testify, they went to Phelps who refused to help. However, Phelps pushed over the edge at the thought of Bazinski continuing to get away with his crimes and broke into his home, where he tortured him through the night for answers. Bazinski confessed all his crimes while begging for mercy and trying to justify his acts but earning a beating for it each time.
Phelps had videotaped the assault and brought the footage to the Special Victims Unit, confessing that he did it so Bazinski could no longer abuse his students like he and the others were subjected to. Bazinski was found in critical condition and was rushed to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. Phelps was unremorseful for his actions because he got his revenge but SVU felt empathy for him, knowing his acts were from trauma. He was subsequently arrested for murder and imprisoned.
