Law and Order

Nick Taska (alias Bill Fallon) is a murderer and the kidnapper of his daughters, Alexis and Susan Fallon.

History[]

Taska was an extremely domineering father and husband, harassing and degrading his wife and daughters over the slightest problems and guilting them with the pettiest of punishments meant to scar them and make them obedient. His mentally and emotionally battered wife Eleanor filed for divorce and custody of the girls, but Taska absconded with them both and changed his and their names. He remarried to a woman named Sylvia, who was abused all the same and became compliant as a result.

When college instructor Marion Hollis saw them at the subway and recognized them, as she was an Eleanor’s friend, Nick shoved her in front of a train and ran with the children, now grown up after a decade and a half. Once Taska was tracked, he confessed to his true identity, but not his crimes. His daughters were so brainwashed they not only defended him and blamed Eleanor, but Alexis also lied about Taska’s alibi. When Eleanor reunited with her daughters, the sisters recoiled, and Alexis desperately lied , confessing she killed Marion to keep Taska from being jailed.

The prosecution acquiesces to kidnapping charges alone and Eleanor testifies on the stand to Taska’s abuse and dominance. Sylvia and Susan also are encouraged to admit Taska’s personality, which provokes him as far as insulting Sylvia and shouting at the judge that she was just meant to be a mother on hand for the girls. Taska himself is even prodded to demonstrate his own temper and predisposition, so he accepts defeat, pleads down to a lesser kidnapping charge, and takes a binding agreement to not try to hold any responsibility over Alexis and Susan. The sisters were never wavered in their devotion to Taska, hating Eleanor being given guardianship over them.

Taska was found guilty of kidnapping and imprisoned. (L&O: “Tabula Rasa”)
