Nicole Manning is the wife of Richard Manning and who secretly had an affair with construction worker Kyle Novacek.

When she became pregnant, Richard was ecstatic, when he found out they were having a son.
When Richard found out about Novacek, he believed the baby wasn't his especially after Nicole said it was for Novacek. In a fit of vengeful rage, he beat Nicole unconscious, forcefully c-sectioned his son out of Nicole's womb, then beat him to death and disposed of his corpse.
Nicole was found and rushed to the hospital, with no memory from the damage to her head. The doctor said it will be impossible for Nicole to have another child in the future as a result of her injuries.
SVU detectives investigate the case and the affair was found out, and although Novacek was briefly suspected, Richard was found out because of his domestic abuse and arrested and put on trial.
In court, Nicole learned that the baby was not for Novacek but rather Richard after ADA Alexandra Cabot brought out the paternity test. Nicole watched as Richard became horrified to find out his son really was his all along, confessing on the stand in devastation.
When Richard was imprisoned, Nicole was left to grieve for her child. (SVU: "Monogamy")
