Nikki Vansen is one of the ex-girlfriends of David Kellen, their relationship lasting three months, the most out of all of David's relationships. Afterwards, Nikki then became the girlfriend of Aston Skinner, David's number two.

Nikki had went on a date with David through a dating consultant named Stephanie Miller, Nikki and David had dated for three months until David broke up with her to be with Vanessa Colway. When Nikki had met David she also met Aston Skinner, David's number two and when David had broke up with Nikki she ends up developing a relationship with Aston that also had a sexual side and the two end up officially becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
When Nikki went to La Chat Blanc she saw David with another woman, Andrea Stiles, Nikki goes to the two and jokes about if David has beem spiritual with Andrea yet and Andrea says he hasn't. David leaves to go to the men's bathroom an Nikki follows David and enters the bathroom, the two have a brief conversation and David leaves the bathroom with Nikki doing the same a bit later
Nikki was interviewed by Detectives Goren and Eames after Stephanie noted that Nikki was the lady who had the longest relationship with David. Nikki was directing a movie for Universal Hollywood Studios, she tells the detectives of how she saw David at Le Chat Blanc and talked to him and then left to go home at about 10:30. Detective Eames asks Nikki why she and David broke up and Nikki responds by saying they were both too busy with their jobs to see each other. Detective Eames says that Nikki had lied about just talking to David as Andrea had told the detectives that Nikki had followed David in the bathroom. When asked if anyone could confirm that she was home at 10:30 Nikki said her boyfriend, Aston SKinner could. The detectives were suspicious of Nikki and Aston because both could have easily benefited from David's death: Aston being promoted to CEO and Nikki getting revenge on her ex-boyfriend.
The detectives' suspicions were raised when Michael Connelly, a fake witness hired by Jack Driscoll, David's true killer identified Nikki as the killer of David. Nikki was brought to the interrogation room by Detective Eames to be interrogated, when being interrogated Nikki admits she lied about not following David because she was embarassed. Detective Goren says to Captain Joseph Hannah that, although Nikki hates David it didn't seem like she was the killer of David.
The detectives looked into Michael credability and discovered Michael's brother, Greg had ties to Jack, they end up determining that Jack was David's killer and Jack is arrested and imprisoned for killing David and Michael. (CI: "The Last Street in Manhattan")
