Nora Lewin was the acting District Attorney for the County of New York from 2000 to 2002.
She was appointed as the DA by Mayor Rudy Giuliani to replace Adam Schiff for an interim term. Giuliani had worked with her on many organized crime cases when he was a United States Attorney, and he thought that she would do an excellent job. Schiff approved of the selection of Lewin to replace him. (L&O: "Endurance")
After her interim term was up, Lewin chose not to run for reelection, having become disillusioned with the position. She was succeeded by Arthur Branch.
