Nora Lewin was the District Attorney for the County of New York on Law & Order from 2000 to 2002. She was played by Dianne Wiest.
She was appointed as the DA by Mayor Rudy Giuliani to replace Adam Schiff for an interim term. Giuliani had worked with her on many organized crime cases when he was a US Attorney, and thought she would do an excellent job. Schiff approved of the selection of Lewin to replace him. After her interim term was up, Lewin chose not to run for reelection, having become disillusioned with the position. She was succeeded by Arthur Branch.
