Norbert Leo Butz is an American actor who guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Butz is a two-time winner of the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his roles in the musicals Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Catch Me If You Can (with Aaron Tveit). He also starred in the TV shows Bloodline (with Jamie McShane and Chloƫ Sevigny) and Mercy Street, as well as the miniseries Fosse/Verdon (with Sam Rockwell) and The Girl from Plainville (again with Sevigny along with Elle Fanning, Cara Buono, and Colton Ryan).
He starred as Detective Norbert Bryl in the FX series Justified: City Primeval (with Natalie Zea, Aunjanue Ellis, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Marin Ireland, Victor Williams, Paul Calderon, Dominic Fumusa, Regina Taylor, Keith David, and David Cross).
Norbert's sister Teresa would be killed in an attack in her apartment, with her domestic partner living through the brutal assault. The crime would be emulated in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Mask".
Butz is married to actress Michelle Federer who guest-starred as Allison Jenkins in the Criminal Intent episode "Gone".
