Mrs. Ortega (first name unknown) is the mother of murder victim Maunel Ortega, the mother-in-law of his wife Natalie, and the grandmother of their daughter Felice. When Manuel and Natalie were shot in a crowded restaurant by an assault rifle, Mrs. Ortega knew full well it was a cartel execution. She even know which hitman killed her family, Javier Lariano Gaitan, better known as "The Prince of Darkness"
Gaitan was arrested and convicted, but he was shot by another cartel member, Mr. Cristobal, under the ruse of Gaitan killing his son. It was too late to remand Cristobal, after he pleaded to manslaughter and waited for his allocution out on bail, taking the time to empty his accounts and fly back to Columbia, where the cartel he worked for was centrally located. The cartel then slaughtered all witnesses, including Mrs. Ortega, who was thrown out a window to her death. Felice was picked up at school by a man claiming to be her "uncle", despite her not having one, implying she was disappeared as well. (L&O: "Prince of Darkness")
