Pamela Sawyer is a high school classmate and the best friend of Luke Breslin since elementary school. Luke had a steroid addiction, so due to increases in testosterone and libido, Luke made an aggressive pass at Pamela. When she rejected him kindly, he lost it and started violently kissing and beating her, ripping her clothes in the process. She was afraid she did something like "sending the wrong signals", but responders reassured her that wasn't the case.
Luke was released to the custody of his father Pete Breslin when taken to trial. Luke had another roid rage and shot Pete over Pete also getting addicted to steroids. When the drugs stopped working and Luke grew depressed, he manically drove to the Sawyer house, took Pamela hostage, and tried to apologize to her before killing himself. She was taken away for her own safety, in exchange for Stabler, Pete's old patrol partner, staying behind to talk Luke down. It worked, and Luke surrendered, reuniting with Pete, who lived through being shot. (SVU: "Ripped")
