Paul Lee is the husband of Claire Lee and the father of Beth and Elijah Lee.
History[]
Paul and Claire speak with Sergeant Odafin Tutuola and Detective Amanda Rollins who notify them about Beth's disappearance. Paul tells Tutuola and Rollins about their trusted family friend, Nick Pearce, who they referred to as Luke Davis. Paul and Claire tell Tutuola and Rollins that Beth will be home by Mother's Day. Later, Benson and Rollins speak with Paul and Claire at their home for their help in finding Beth. Paul then speaks with Tutuola in another room. Paul tells Tutuola that Luke was a guitarist which is what he does for a living. Paul claims that Beth felt called to go.
Later, Claire revealed to Captain Olivia Benson that her and Luke were in love and that she was having an affair. Claire tells Benson that Paul can never know about the affair. Claire then ends up telling Paul about her affair with Luke. Later, Benson speaks with Paul and Claire. Paul claims that he is working on forgiving Claire for committing adultery. Benson tells Paul and Claire that Luke had been grooming Beth for ages and Paul tells Benson to get his daughter back to him. After Beth was found and Nick was taken to court, Nick's lawyer tried to argue that Paul and Claire had put their daughter in danger.
Paul stands up and yells to the lawyer that the accusations are not true. Nick's lawyer then claims that Paul had forced Nick into sexual acts with him, which shocked Paul and Claire. Paul later revealed to A.D.A Dominick Carisi, Jr. and Sergeant Odafin Tutuola that he and Nick got drunk, and Nick had touched him inappropriately, and he just went along with it. Paul admitted to Carisi that he had exchanges with Nick at least one other time after. Paul then asks Carisi if Claire has to know and Carisi tells Paul that Claire will find out either way. Paul later came to clean to Claire who was upset but having acknowledged her own infidelity, she could not be mad.
When Elizabeth met with Nick and implied pregnancy, Paul and Claire were greatly upset by Nick's machinations and hold on their daughter, until Benson came up with a plan. They had Claire mislead Elizabeth into thinking they would allow her to marry Nick on her 15th birthday but only if she confirmed her pregnancy. After the DNA was a match to Pearce, he was arrested for his crimes. In the end, the Lee parents reconciled promising to repair their marriage. Claire also revealed that Elizabeth will keep the baby but she and Paul will raise it as their own. (SVU: "Did You Believe in Miracles?")
