Paul Nicholls is an actor who was cast to play Detective Sam Casey in the established Law & Order: UK.
He joins the cast from Series 6 where we first see him investigating the shooting of Matt Devlin after the actor Jamie Bamber leaves the show.
He is also known for playing Joe Wicks in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.
In 2017, Nicholls was found unconscious after three days trapped at the base of a waterfall in Thailand after falling and smashing his leg, which resulted in 37 infections as well as a stroke which paralyzed the right side of his body. Shortly afterwards, he started abusing cocaine and the pain killer tablets dihydrocodeine. As well as this, he started heavily drinking, not only becoming addicted to drugs but also alcohol. In 2020, after a drug relapse, Nicholls decided to become clean after realizing that his drug addiction could kill him.
