Paul Sorvino was an actor who played Sergeant Phil Cerreta in Law & Order. He first appeared in the Season 2 episode "Confession" and made his last appearance in the Season 3 episode "Point of View".

He appeared in Larry Cohen's 1985 science fiction horror film The Stuff as a reclusive militia leader, alongside his future Law & Order co-star Michael Moriarty.

Sorvino was probably best recognized for his role as Paul Cicero in the 1990 gangster drama Goodfellas. He also starred in the film Romeo + Juliet (with Claire Danes, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Brian Dennehy, Diane Venora, Dash Mihok, Zak Orth, and Harold Perrineau) and the film Most Wanted (with Jill Hennessy). He also appeared in two cameo films directed by Warren Beatty: Lips Manlis in Dick Tracy and Graham Crocket in Bulworth. In both films, he is killed.

Sorvino passed away from natural causes on July 25, 2022. He is survived by his children Mira (an Academy Award-winning actress), Michael, and Amanda.
