Peter Abrams is the corrupt counselor of rapist Steve Getz.

History[]

During Getz's trial, Abrams was antagonistic towards the Special Victims Unit detectives, ADA Carisi, and Vanessa Hadid. Privately, he told Carisi that Getz was unwell and that he would be willing to take a plea deal of four years, which would also save Ivy and Milly Bucci from testifying. The plea deal was made but this was only part of a plan as Judge Joe Ellery, who was bribed by Abrams and Getz, dismissed the charges against Getz. Afterwards, Abrams told Carisi there were no hard feelings between him, Abrams and Getz and invited Carisi to Getz's private party on a yacht but Carisi declined, telling Abrams this was far from over. He later dismissed Captain Benson and Sergeant Tutuola when they came to collect Ivy and Milly at the party, who were with their mother Donna, therefore giving parental consent. After Ivy and Milly's father Frank kidnapped Detective Rollins in retaliation to Getz not being charged, the SVU investigated why the judge dismissed the charges and discovered Getz and Abrams had blackmailed Ellery with a video of him having sex with a teenage girl. After an undercover operation involving Abrams and Ellery, Abrams was arrested and imprisoned, as well as permanently disbarred for his actions. (SVU: "Must Be Held Accountable")
