Peter Flynn is the father of Maddie Flynn.

History[]

Peter and Eileen were out shopping with Maddie when Maddie was abducted by George Brouchard from the shopping center in broad daylight. While Captain Benson investigated the case, she kept Peter and Eileen in the loop. (SVU: "Tunnel Blind")

After becoming depressed as a result of Maddie's disappearance, Peter attempted to commit suicide in Maddie's room. However, Eileen found him and quickly saved him, before having him rushed to the hospital. She called Benson from the hospital, and Benson took a personal day off to help Eileen. (SVU: "The Punch List")

Peter recovered from his experience, before he and Eileen were called when Benson believed she made a break. The Flynn's were shown pictures of a child who resembled Maddie with an altered appearance while being shown the message she supposedly wrote. Peter regained some hope and told Benson that's definitely his daughter's handwriting. Benson thanked them for their time, becoming more determined to locate their child. Pulling every resource, SVU were able to apprehend Maddie's abductors and eventually found Maddie. The Flynn's rushed to the hospital when Benson called to tell them the good news, and they shared an emotional reunion with her. Peter expressed worry if she was abused, as Benson told him the doctors were looking into it and Maddie will need them in her time of recovery. Peter accepted and thanked her for saving Maddie. The family was later present when Police Commissioner Robin Pettis congratulated the SVU and FBI for their work on Maddie's case. (SVU: "Zone Rouge")

Over time, Peter started to lose his temper over George Brouchard's trial, resulting in Eileen feeling isolated. (SVU: "Combat Fatigue")

Peter and his family celebrated Maddie's 16th birthday party, while inviting Benson who they accept as an honorary member. Although Peter was worried about Maddie's residual trauma, he still made sure she was happy. (SVU: "Duty to Hope")
