Peter Forbes is the father of kidnapped child Adam Forbes, whom he was fighting for in a custody battle.
History[]
Peter was divorcing from Carolyn Forbes and was negotiating division of custody between him and Carolyn in family courts, despite both of them desperately wanting Adam more than the other parent. Carolyn also had to handle caring for Eric Manning, her older son from her first marriage to a man named Steven. When Adam was missing from his room, the window screen being cut revealing he was kidnapped, it was assumed to be part of the legal battles. Carolyn blamed Peter, and when Peter missed his date by turning the cab that he was in over to Carolyn's house from hearing about Adam on the radio, he blamed Carolyn and vehemently denied his own involvement, represented by Ira Rosenman in interrogation.
After all relatives were ruled out and the team knew they were looking for a stranger, mental patient Kevin Walker was revealed to be Adam's kidnapper. After Kevin was arrested after stabbing two people letting him live with them, killing one of them, and Kevin was threatened into revealing where Adam was, the boy was rescued barely scratched.
