Peter Hermann is an actor who guest-starred on Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He is best known for his portrayal of Attorney Trevor Langan on SVU.
Hermann had brief stints on various shows including the soap opera Guiding Light, the ABC Family show Beautiful People, and the Lifetime original series Angela's Eyes.
Hermann was in the Broadway premiere of Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio, featuring fellow Special Victims Unit actress Stephanie March.
He also guested on 30 Rock during its first season, and starred in ABC's mid-season replacement series Cashmere Mafia as Davis Draper (with Lucy Liu and Bonnie Somerville). In 2011, he appeared in the Broadway play War Horse, and made occasional appearances as Erin Reagan's ex-husband John "Jack" Boyle on Blue Bloods.
Since August 2015, he has been starring as Charles Brooks on TV Land's longest-running original comedy-drama series Younger (with Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar, and Hilary Duff).
While guest-starring on SVU, Hermann met actress Mariska Hargitay. The two were married in 2004, and their son, August Miklos Friedrich Hermann, was born in 2006. They later adopted a girl (Amaya Josephine) and a boy (Andrew) in 2011. Hermann is also known as 'The Professional' in commercials for the PERSIL detergent.
His children book If the S in Moose Comes Loose was mentioned in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Zero Tolerance".
