Peter Righetti is the nephew of Masucci Crime Family figurehead Federico Righetti. When Federico was on trial for murder-for-hire, Peter sold Federico out to get him imprisoned.
When the FBI successfully sabotaged the case and got Federico released, Peter ordered the killing on Federico and his nurse. It's believed the FBI set this up to take out Federico as quickly as possible. (L&O: "Payback")
