Rachel made a 14-year-old character for the sexualized settings of the computerized world, which attracted the attention of pedophile Gregory Searle, who saw the avatar's uncanny likeness to a teenager he previously raped, Lauren Molby. Searle stalked Rachel, then kidnapped her from her apartment in the middle of the night.
When Rachel's boyfriend Dan Friedich raped Rachel's sister Kristi because Rachel wasn't around for his sleep sex, Rachel was discovered missing. Tracking her online activity, her avatar was found, which revealed the motive. She was tracked to a garage where she was held captive, rescued, and brought to the hospital.
