Randall Stabler is Elliot Stabler's older brother.
History[]
Randall came from an Irish American Catholic family and has five siblings: three brothers and two sisters. His father Joseph was a police officer, but he lost his job and pension when he refused to testify about fellow police officers. Randall's mother Bernadette suffered from bipolar disorder, a condition that one of his nieces, Kathleen, would go on to inherit.
After Elliot picked him up from the airport, Randall revealed that he had spent time recently with Eli in Colorado. While speaking with his mother, it is revealed that he and his wife Angela were divorced and that he was living in Florida. (OC: "Deliver Us From Evil")
During his visit, Randall admits that their brother Joseph, Jr. had been discharged and was living in the city. He also suggests wanting to hold a dinner with the entire family for their mother. (OC: "End Of Innocence")
During that same visit, Randall hosts a Stabler family dinner with all of the Stablers willing to come. During the dinner, Randall admitted to turning their father in resulting in being kicked out of the house. As the brothers argued, the landline rang and after Randall showed that he had Elliot's phone, they fought, causing Randall to fall on the ground. After Elliot returned home, they talked and cleared the air from the fight. After Elliot revealed that he might've been suspended, Randall said not to do anything stupid like their father. (OC: "The Last Supper")
After Randall and Stabler became suspicious of Joe Jr, they broke into his apartment. Randall and Stabler then found heroin inside his safe and confronted him about it. Randall offered to get Joe Jr the help that he needed but he refused to admit that he needed help and told them to back off. (OC: "Semper Fi")
Whilst Stabler went undercover on an assignment, Randall went to do some digging when Joe Jr went off the grid. Randall then broke into the warehouse that Joe Jr worked in before getting arrested but bailed out by Vargas. When Bell interrogated Randall about his arrest, Jet revealed that Bashir's blood was found inside Joe Jr's warehouse. (OC: "Redcoat")
