Dr. Rankesh Chanoor is a gynecologist suspected in the rapes of six women, three of them also murdered, who were clients of his office.

When their connections were tracked, Rankesh was tracked and questioned, and he was discovered to sexually harass women at the clinics Rankesh ran. But one of the victims, Ming Hao, didn't see the rapist in a lineup Rankesh was a part of. Instead, when Rankesh was interrogated with news clippings of the crimes, Ming saw his son Henry and identified him as the rapist. Raknesh was appalled but not surprised, as he never saw Henry as a success and treated him as nonexistent, unlike his sisters Debi and Nita, who accordingly grew up to be a lawyer and a doctor. Henry was a custodian at Raknesh's clinic, revealing the access to all the women.
When Henry was arrested and confessed, his sister Debi represented him as his legal counsel. After Henry was taken into custody, Rankesh bitterly insulted Henry again, even in front of his wife Geeta. Geeta retorted from finally having enough of Rankesh's degradation of Henry, saying if he had loved Henry like he had with the rest of his children, he wouldn't have ended up the criminal he did. Rankesh watched stunned as his wife refused to turn on her son and was arrested for it.
Henry was eventually cornered at a loading dock, bragging about his crimes on live radio and arrested after a standoff. (SVU: "Outsider")
