Rebecca Lasky was a witness to the killing of Black standup comedian Ellis Joyner. The killer, white supremacist Brandon Arnou, racially profiled Joyner, assuming that he was about to attack Lasky, and put him in a chokehold. Joyner eventually died after Arnou kept him in the chokehold even after Lasky left and Joyner passed out.
Lasky was called as a surprise witness for Arnou's defense; she called him a "hero", but she was questioned whether she was sure Joyner was about to attack her, and she started to doubt her own racial profiling. In the end, Arnou was acquitted. (L&O: "Facade")
