Renee Curry is a Captain who works for the New York City Police Department Special Victims Unit. She was previously the captain of the Internal Affairs Bureau.
History[]
After Jayvon Brown filed a lawsuit against Captain Benson and Sergeant Tutuola, Curry interviewed Benson about the incident. (SVU: "Guardians and Gladiators")
After the shooting of Detective Diego Morales by Sergeant Bell, Benson was interviewed by Curry about the events. Benson explained that it was a good shooting. Curry then warned Benson that Richard Wheatley, the man who bribed Morales and thus indirectly contributed to the shooting, may be after her. (SVU: "And The Empire Strikes Back")
Curry teamed up with Benson to find the rapists of McGrath's daughter Shea after McGrath threatened to kill a suspect. Curry then watched McGrath throughout the entire investigation, which culminated in him holding the rapist's father hostage. Curry then revealed that McGrath was put on modified leave and that they were looking for his replacement. Curry then also requested to Benson that she be allowed to join SVU. (SVU: "Duty to Report")
Trivia[]
- Curry enjoys baking. She made donuts (SVU: "Zone Rouge"), muffins (SVU: "Carousel"), and crumb cake (SVU: "Probability of Doom") for her colleagues at SVU.
