Law and Order

Richard "Richie" Wheatley, Jr. was the son of Angela and businessman Richard Wheatley.

History[]

Richie appeared to be very close to his family, particularly his father and is extremely loyal to them, often assisting his father with his crimes. As well as this, he also frequently gets into fights. Despite his loyalty to his father, Junior is not as corrupt as his father as he loved Gina Cappelletti even after he discovered that she was working the the authorities undercover.

Despite this however, he reluctantly agreed to carry out her assassination as he was overcome by the selfish desire to please his father even at the expense of his morals. Even so, Richie didn't kill Gina without a conscience. While betraying his lover gained Junior the approval of his father, Richard Sr's praise didn't give Richie the satisfaction he wanted. (OC: "I Got This Rat")

Following his arrest, Richard Jr. began to question his actions after a furious Sergeant Ayanna Bell lambasted him in his jail cell for his role in Gina's demise. Realizing the errors of his ways, a repentant Richie broke down into tears as soon as Sgt. Bell stormed out of the cell. (OC: "Everybody Takes a Beating Sometime")

When Richard Jr. is put on trial alongside his father and sister, he learns that his father was also being charged for the murder of his grandfather, Manfredi Sinatra. Enraged by this revelation, Richard Jr. disowns his father while in prison and, working with Hugo Bankole, sends a team of hitmen from the Marcy Killers after his father to avenge Manfredi. This team, though, fails due to the intervention of Sgt. Bell and Detective Elliot Stabler. (OC: "Forget It Jake; It's Chinatown")

He is asked to testify against his father at his trial, which he does via a remote video conference from prison. While the prosecution was keen to have his testimony and he wanted to give it at first, he backpedals when he testifies due to an unseen influence. (SVU: "People Vs Richard Wheatley")

Death[]

The elder Wheatley, through study of a plan engineered by hacker Sebastian McClane, takes control of the New York City power grid. He then makes several demands of the city, including the release of Richie and allowing him the use of a private jet to flee prosecution. While it first appears that his father wants his release so they can both make a getaway, instead, the elder Richard Wheatley shot and killed the younger Richie for unstated reasons (though it is possible he found out about the revenge hit that Richie had put out on him along with Richie's original plan to testify against him). (OC: "...Wheatley Is To Stabler")
