Robert "Rob" McElhenney III is a writer, producer, and actor who guest-starred on the Law & Order episode "Thrill" as Joey Timon.
He went on to become well-known for his portrayal of Ronald "Mac" McDonald on the comedy series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (with Charlie Day), which he also created. He also created and stars on the show Mythic Quest as Ian Grimm (with Day and F. Murray Abraham).
McElhenney married his It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star Kaitlin Olson, who portrayed Dee Reynolds on September 27, 2008 and they have two sons: Axel Lee McElhenney, who was born on September 1, 2010 and Leo Grey McElhenney, who was born on April 5, 2012.
