Robby Vickery is a Chelsea University medical student and lab technician and a previous suspect in the murder of a girl he was dating, Justine Stebbins. He bragged about going out with her to other students to look impressive, and he was aggressively obsessive with watching over lab testing rats he was to care for during his time at the institute.
When Justine was shot, he was found and denied killing her, upset she was dead because he liked her. However, when she was revealed to be working as an escort, he was arrested on suspicion and was found to have snapped compromising photos of her during their shared train ride on his phone. He was crushed he found out how she paid her tuition, but he lawyered up.
A grad student, Alex Conway, was found to be the killer since Vickery show him a photo of Justine, and Conway was arrested. Vickery was offered release from custody in exchange for getting Conway’s confession. It didn’t work, but Vickery was still released. Conway’s counsel provoked his jealous anger about being less successful a student to make him look guilty, but Conway was imprisoned anyway. (L&O: “Brilliant Disguise”)
