Law and Order

Robert "Bobby" Cole is a mentally ill Iraq war veteran and a murderer of other war veterans.

History[]

Bobby had a head injury, which resulted in his declining state of mind all the way to psychosis and violent breakdowns. As the U.S. government restricted money for healthcare of veterans, Bobby was reduced to squalid, unlivable facilities and refusal of the treatment he needed. As a consequence, he became homeless and suffered PTSD-derived delusions of fearing enemy combatants exacerbated by his brain trauma. he became friends with fellow transient Audrey Hermenez, who Bobby once saved from a rape by beating a rapist while they were in a low-rate hotel.

Bobby and Audrey were recruited by Peter Harris to rob homes Harris scouted. As Bobby's psychotic breaks and resulting violence were too much for Harris, yet Harris still wanted to use Bobby, Harris lied to Bobby he needed to kill insurgents to quell his sick mind. Bobby ended up beating fellow homeless Iraq War veterans David Kriedel and William McCarter to death. Once the robbery crew was arrested, Bobby was prepared a plea deal, which he bitterly agreed would get him the medical care he needed. However, beforehand, the trial was used as the opportunity to expose the abuse and neglect Bobby and other veterans suffered, against a District Court writ sealing the records so the government wouldn't be liable.

Bobby pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. (L&O: "Over Here")
