Robert Fletcher is a journalist who coordinated with CFO Alexis Morphew of Questarc to gather information on the company to expose her boss, Ethan Merritt. The company always had a toxic work environment, which Alexis was providing Robert information on to blow the whistle.
When Alexis was strangled in her apartment, her use of a burner phone led detectives to Fletcher. Assuming they were having a relationship, Fletcher revealed not only he's gay, but they were working on the leak together. Fletcher was released and absolved of guilt when the real killer was found.
