Robert Paul Byers is a racist who orchestrated a series of hate crimes in New York City on Christmas Eve.

History[]

After Robert ordered several people to attack people of different religions, the Special Victims Unit and Hate Crimes Task Force worked together to solve the case. However, Sergeant Odafin Tutuola, Detective Amanda Rollins, and Sergeant Hasim Khaldun managed to enter the apartment of a man named Darko Pavic and found several bombs in his closet. Pavic was interrogated and was shown the video of Robert reading the manifesto and Pavic claimed that he had no idea who the man was. He later confessed to being an accomplice to the crimes. Later, they arrested Antonio Juarez and asked him about the bombs. He told them where the bombs were located to avoid the death penalty and was under police surveillance while he spoke with Tom Nolan, another accomplice. Nolan was arrested at the scene and it was revealed that his wife, Susan Nolan, recorded the video of Robert reading his manifesto. Nolan refused to give them Susan's location until Benson pushed him. They track Susan and Robert to a hotel and they were headed to the Washington Square Park. At the park, the two task-forces catch up with Susan and Robert and showed them their badges. Out of fear, Robert claimed that he had a bomb in his backpack and threatened to activate it. Before he could activate it, Captain Olivia Benson fired her weapon and shot him in the head. Despite his death, Susan warned detectives that Robert will become a martyr for other racists.
