Law and Order

Roger Lansing is the abusive ex-husband and the prime suspect in the torture and attempted murder of Catherine Lansing.

History[]

Roger was violent and addicted to cocaine, which frightened Catherine's parents. Catherine eventually started a divorce with Roger, but he still sent her letters and flowers out of obsessively wanting her back. Catherine was found near-fatally tortured in her own living space, with a postman murdered right outside her door.

Roger was questioned and put more of the accounts the police heard on her parents, but he was cleared when providing an alibi. Matt Bergstrom falsely confessed, but just for a plea of no prosecution he'd face as a serial killer, only to be found out as innocent of attacking Catherine and killing the postal worker.

It was revealed Roger's new girlfriend, Michelle Ashford, got jealous of Catherine as "competition", so she sent her brother Michael to kill Catherine and portray the murder as sadistic. Michael panicked when the mailman arrived and killed him with a wood working tool before fleeing, laving Catherine barely alive. Michelle and Michael were convicted and imprisoned in federal court.
