Rosanny Chavez was an undercover detective, who reported to Captain Don Kubiak.
History[]
While investigating a sex trafficking ring, Joe Velasco was arrested by Kubiak and Chavez, who was undercover as a sex worker. Captain Olivia Benson and Sergeant Odafin Tutuola were called down to the 29th Precinct where they met Chavez. Chavez took Velasco and Benson to see Señora Juana Ramirez, the soul of the neighborhood. While questioning another woman named Lucia, Velasco thought that Chavez should speak to her after he thought she was apprehensive about speaking to men.
Chavez spoke with Lucia alone. Chavez phoned Manhattan Special Victims Unit and told them that Lucia wanted to speak. The squad then staged for them to meet at Lenora's store before accepting the women. When the police arrived to meet Chavez and Lucia, they crossed the street and Chavez was run over by a car and Lucia ran away after being hit. Chavez died after the surgery from the injuries. As it turned out, her captain was actually apart of the smuggling ring and had told his conspirators of the investigation, resulting in Chavez's death.
